Teaching Philosophy: As a school, we believe students learn best by doing, so our entire program is taught through direct interaction with live client cases every class weekend. From Day 1 of the first year students will see clients with a wide variety of issues, taking cases themselves alongside experienced homeopathic clinicians. This enables students to immerse themselves in the actual hands on practice of homeopathy, teaching them how to deal with the myriad issues encountered in day to day practice with the support of experienced homeopaths.
We teach through the foundation of Bloom’s Taxonomy so that students not only learn the foundational knowledge, skills and attitudes required to use homeopathy effectively, but also how to evaluate and synthesize information at higher levels of learning. We want our students to not only be able to think like a homeopath and handle anything that may arise, but to be able to push beyond and “think outside the box”.
Our programs are based on a spiraled curriculum, often breaking into small discussion/work groups as opposed to large lecture style formats. This allows all the core elements required of homeopathic thinking to be covered in the first year, and then re-visited and expanded upon in subsequent years for those wishing to learn how to work with more complex chronic issues. In this way material is repeated and learned more deeply, making it easier for adult learners to grasp and apply the information being presented.
Coaching: Coaching is an essential element in learning the effective application of homeopathy. We believe each student evolves at his or her own pace – so we have designed our program to meet the needs of all students, regardless of how slowly or quickly they progress; when ready, students are supported in taking their own cases, both within the program itself and outside the school in their own community.
Students taking cases within the school are supported and coached by our faculty as part of the program. When students are ready to take cases outside of the school, we provide them with a referral list of experienced certified homeopaths able to support and coach them towards their personal goals. Our coaches also agree to a reduced fee structure for all Teleosis students. In this way students are supported both inside and outside the school by individual mentors who are able to help them develop the confidence, skills and community to practice successfully.
